Description |
Nantong museum is the first museum ever established in China. Built in 1906, it now extends over 70,000 m2 and is partitioned into four sections – middle hall, south hall, north building and east building. The museum specializes in the preservation artifacts carrying natural, historic, artistic and gymnastic themes. The collection totals over 40,000 and among them, 55 items have been selected nationally as first class rarities. The earliest few relics date back to the birth of Christ. Nantong museum welcomes visitors of all ages.
